At ‘Nature in mind’ we offer workshops, courses, tours and retreats teaching people mindful techniques to connect more deeply with nature to improve their health and well-being. We are available to work both with groups and one-on-one. Our aim is to help you reap the health benefits that are to be found in consciously connecting with the natural world and help you integrate this practice into your day-to-day life.
The duration of our trainings range in time from a couple of hours to longer nature-immersion retreats. The work takes place in a range of locations around Dublin and Ireland, from city parks and other urban nature locations, to ‘wilder’ nature experiences in more secluded and isolated areas. We work in all types of landscapes from hills, mountains, valleys, and forests, to seas, rivers, lakes, and ponds.
Each workshop can be tailored to suit the needs of the group. We offer a varied approach and a range of activities from walking and hiking to swimming and kayaking. The level of exercise can vary from gentle to more strenuous, depending on the needs of those involved. We also sometimes incorporate creative and artistic activities into the work as a way to connect with and appreciate the beauty of the world around us more fully.
We also offer a resource pack that people can take away with them and use the ideas to continue to cultivate their own nature experiences after the workshop. Our work equips people with the tools and skills to connect with their local environment on a daily basis. We help people form a relationship with the nature that lives around them and develop a feeling of belonging and a sense of being at home in the place where they live.
To this end we often work with people in their local areas and show them ways to get the most out of the nature that exists even in very dense urban environments. This allows people then to use the world around them to help deal with stress and increase their well-being on an on-going basis.
